Out of dependency

Kenya
Solar technician

When Tabitha Nduguti received her diploma as a solar technician in Kenya last summer, it was far more than just a piece of paper: it was the beginning of a future with new possibilities.

Before that, she worked as a domestic worker in harsh conditions with no prospects. Then she heard about Solar Learning for Women and applied.

Today, after her apprenticeship, she has clear goals: “I want to obtain my advanced diploma and start an internship as soon as possible in order to gain job-specific experience.”

Tabitha’s story shows that training can change everything. Self-determination becomes possible when young women have access to training and tools.
