Solar energy for people and climate

Solafrica-Sonne-durch-Blaetterwald
The sun gives us limitless energy. We use this power in two ways: solar energy gives people access to electricity and thus new opportunities for education, health and development. At the same time, it protects our climate and preserves the planet for future generations.

Sustainable climate protection

Solafrica-Aethiopien-Berglandschaft

The climate crisis threatens millions of lives. Droughts, floods and crop failures hit those who have contributed little to global warming the hardest. Solar energy is a key to turning the tide: It reduces emissions and at the same time opens up opportunities for development.

Reducing energy poverty

685 million people live without electricity – most of them in Africa. Solar energy has the potential to fundamentally change their lives: it enables children and adults to study in the evenings, use modern technologies and refrigerate vital medicines.
