Solar vocational training in Kenya: the foundation is laid<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

From 2013 to 2023, Solafrica implemented the Solar Learning Kenya vocational training programme together with the Ramogi Resource Centre and the Ramogi Institute of Advanced Technologies. The aim was to provide young people in the Homa Bay district with sound training in solar technology and at the same time improve access to sustainable energy in rural regions. The project laid the foundation for all of Solafrica’s other solar training programmes. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Solar Learning Kenya is a holistic training programme for young people who have lost touch with the formal education system. They were given the opportunity to get back on track, gain a recognized qualification and at the same time contribute to access to sustainable energy. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

By the end of the project in 2023, the training was gradually transferred to the sole responsibility of the local partner organisations, ensuring that its impact remains long-term.<\/p>

Influenced by the success of this first comprehensive training program, numerous other vocational training projects have since been launched in other regions of Kenya and other countries.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
